Hello everyone, I finally managed to flash my Asus WL-HDD 2.5 to oleg 1.9.2.7-8, everything seems woking well, except I got this warning in the log:

... ...
Dec 31 19:00:03 kernel: Mounted devfs on /dev
Dec 31 19:00:03 kernel: Freeing unused kernel memory: 72k freed
Dec 31 19:00:03 kernel: Warning: unable to open an initial console.
Dec 31 19:00:03 kernel: Algorithmics/MIPS FPU Emulator v1.5
Dec 31 19:00:03 kernel: Uniform Multi-Platform E-IDE driver Revision: 6.31
Dec 31 19:00:03 kernel: ide: Assuming 33MHz system bus speed for PIO modes; override with idebus=xx
... ...

I am totally new to oleg (been using dd-wrt till I got this WL-HDD;)), with very limited knowledge about linux, I have alreay exhausted the search here, and tried to re-flash the unit twice. Can someone help me by confiming this is normal, or if not how to fix it. Thanks a lot!

No problem!

As far as i know, the cpu is waiting for a serial connection during booting. If there's no answer, the booting continuous. So actually it's a backdoor in case your wl-hdd firmware crashes and needs to be recovered using a serial connection.

Hi EdSki, thank you for the explanation! I was wondering why it happened.

Do you know if I can skip that part of code somehow?

Bob

Bob,

The only way: Asus original FW:o

It's system related, and if you don't see this one.......you won't see the others! It's not indicating a defect, but it looks for connected hardware before it continuous booting the device.
