I recently installed enhanced-ctorrent using the steps outlined in the following page:
http://wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=7643
I also checked most other related pages, but the above seemed to be the most 'complete'. To test the app I downloaded a few small .torrent files (ebook stuff) into the Download directory.
The built-in torrent download master/daemon are disabled, including downloadshare. I have no special ports open or configured.
I attempted to start the torrents using the basic 'enhanced-ctorrent torrentfile.torrent' command line.
The program appears to run, but simply outputs the meta contents of the file (name, size, torrent site etc., see the following output) and creates the download directory for the torrent and allocates the space for the downloaded files.

No other error/status messages appear. I'm not getting references to segment errors that a lot of other message refer to. Running ps shows no sign of enhanced-bittorrent. I tried a few more .torrent files, as well as trying to opening the resulting allocated PDF files in hope they may have magically downloaded, but alas they were empty.
I tried running from screen as well as non-screen logon.
Here's the installed packages:
# ipkg list_installed
busybox - 1.5.1-1 -
busybox-base - 1.5.1-1 -
busybox-links - 1.5.1-1 -
enhanced-ctorrent - dnh3.2-9
gdbm - 1.8.3-2 -
groff - 1.19.2-2 -
libid3tag - 0.15.1b-1 -
libuclibc++ - 0.2.2-4 -
man - 1.5p-4 -
mt-daapd - 0.2.4-2 -
ncurses - 5.6-1 -
openssl - 0.9.7m-3 -
screen - 4.0.3-2 -
termcap - 1.3.1-2 -
zlib - 1.2.3-2 -
Any help is appreciated.
