I'm running Oleg's latest firmware on my WL-500gP. The WL-500gP acts as AP and client on the network, DHCP is handled by my speedtouch adsl modem.

Everything seems fine, except:

If I turn my laptop off at night, and there is no other wireless client connected, when I wake up and turn the laptop again, wireless does not work. I

I connect via ethernet and the wl-500gp is running and everything seems fine, the air light is on, but no wifi network. If I reboot the network is back.

What is going on here?

EDIT: the output of ps axf is not useful so I deleted it.

However, I found that the command
wl radio off && wl radio on at least gets the wifi running again. I'd still like to know why it turns off in the first place!

Also, since I seem to be the only one interested in this problem, it turns out that my quick fix of adding a line turning the radio on and off to my cron tab for every hour does not help at all.

Hi and sorry my English.

You have a wep (64 or 128 bit) coded wlan?
I had a problem, my wlan was unavailable, if not connected any clients in 3-5 minutes. I try solved this problem, I check wlan status (and number of clients), and reset, if no clients (with cron, all second minutes). Solved this problem, if I change to WPA/TKIP coded, hide SSID wlan. (and I :(, my pda (Asus mypal A716) can't connect to wlan - not support WPA mode - but the wlan always available :)) But I log wlan, always (with cron, all second minutes).
Bye,

George
