Hello,

I've been setting up my WL-500gP and today I'm getting my external HDD so I was wondering what torrent client should I use ? I've seen information on how to set up a bunch of them (CTorrent, rTorrent, Transmission) but I want to know what are the ups and downs of each of them ... the good and the bad... can anybody share their experience ?

thank you,
Sorin.

Hello,

I played around last night with the torrent clients... right now I'm downloading something with transmission running from command line ... I managed to start the download but it uses allot of processor ... it's just one torrent and I get 70% processor usage ... is this normal ?

I would like to know what's the most efficient way of downloading torrents from command line ? ... meaning screen + transmission or should I run the transmission daemon .... ?

CPU usage depends on number of peers, swarm speed and disk performance. Number of torrents here is not an issue.
Right indicator is system load and not CPU percentage! CPU normally is not a problem but rather IO performance like disk througpput.

ok I see...

the load avarage right now is around 0.9 (all three values)

Is there a howto anywhere about installing and using transmission from command line (no cgi page) ???
