Hi,
I've tried to search this forum already of course, but couldn't find anything useful for me. So will try to ask here :-)
My problem or better to say - goal - is to connect Asus WL-500g Premium (main router) and WL-500g (secondary router) together, so the secondary router would get the internet connection from main router through WLAN and forward to another devices, which has no possibilities to use WLAN. So the schema would like something like this:
[ADSL modem]<-- cable -->[WL-500gP]~~~ Wireless ~~~[WL-500g]<-- cable -->[other devices]
At the moment I have setup like this and it works with no problems:
[ADSL modem]<-- cable -->[WL-500gP]~~~ Wireless ~~~[laptop]
I am using WPA2 encryption.
Could someone tell me how should I setup the secondary router - WL-500g, - so it would be able to connect to main router using WPA2 encryption and then pass internet connection though LAN ports further? I have to say I am really confused about all those Bridging options what should I choose - AP only, WDS or Hybrid? Furthermore its unclear where and which options should I choose? Do I need to use them on main router side or maybe only on secondary router side or maybe on both?
Probably I am missing some basic knowledge about that, but unfortunately ASUS manuals for those routers aren't very informative...
